Hi! I’m a Freelance Artist and Illustrator from Scotland specialising in portrait art and storybook illustrations.
I graduated from Duncan of Jordanstone, College of Art and Design in 2004 with a B.Des.(Hons) in Animation and Electronic Media. Since this time I have adapted and extended the skills gained in this course to better suit illustrations in both children’s books and graphic novels. This has allowed me to become proficient in all areas of this work including layouts, pencilling, inking, colouring, lettering and editing.
My Work with writer Ed Wicke on his range of children’s stories is especially satisfying and a happy balance to my work in horror comics. I have also produced logos for companies and their products such as Eden Mill, Tay Web Designs, Phenomenails and Bat Country Massacre. In addition to this I have been commissioned to produce a number of portraits of both people and their pets.
Keep your eye’s peeled for some of my most recent work, which will soon be appearing in ITV’s “Lewis”.
As well as my own artworks I am keen to support and encourage new talent in those looking to enter this field. I regularly review comic books for The Big Glasgow Comic Page and I am developing a trainee programme for young artists in the UK to help kickstart their entry into the world of independent comics.
On the rare occasion I am not working on art projects I can be found at any of a number of Scottish craft fairs or conventions. I am always on the lookout for the opportunity to connect and collaborate with other artists and writers from around the world. If you have a project you wish to discuss with me please do not hesitate to get in touch.
